They’re just like you. But with lots of money.
When you think “millionaire,” what image comes to mind? For many of us, it’s a flashy Wall Street banker type who flies a private jet, collects cars and lives the kind of decadent lifestyle that would make Donald Trump proud.
But many modern millionaires live in middle-class neighborhoods, work full-time and shop in discount stores like the rest of us. What motivates them isn’t material possessions but the choices that money can bring: “For the rich, it’s not about getting more stuff. It’s about having the freedom to make almost any decision you want,” says T. Harv Eker, author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. Wealth means you can send your child to any school or quit a job you don’t like.
According to the Spectrem Wealth Study, an annual survey of America’s wealthy, there are more people living the good life than ever before—the number of millionaires nearly doubled in the last decade. And the rich are getting richer. To make it onto the Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans, a mere billionaire no longer makes the cut. This year you needed a net worth of at least $1.3 billion.

If more people are getting richer than ever, why shouldn’t you be one of them? Here, five people who have at least a million dollars in liquid assets share the secrets that helped them get there.
PLUS: 13 Things Your Financial Adviser Won't Tell You
1. Set your sights on where you’re going
Twenty years ago, Jeff Harris hardly seemed on the road to wealth. He was a college dropout who struggled to support his wife, DeAnn, and three kids, working as a grocery store clerk and at a junkyard where he melted scrap metal alongside convicts. “At times we were so broke that we washed our clothes in the bathtub because we couldn’t afford the Laundromat.” Now he’s a 49-year-old investment advisor and multimillionaire in York, South Carolina.
There was one big reason Jeff pulled ahead of the pack: He always knew he’d be rich. The reality is that 80 percent of Americans worth at least $5 million grew up in middle-class or lesser households, just like Jeff.
Wanting to be wealthy is a crucial first step. Says Eker, “The biggest obstacle to wealth is fear. People are afraid to think big, but if you think small, you’ll only achieve small things.”

It all started for Jeff when he met a stockbroker at a Christmas party. “Talking to him, it felt like discovering fire,” he says. “I started reading books about investing during my breaks at the grocery store, and I began putting $25 a month in a mutual fund.” Next he taught a class at a local community college on investing. His students became his first clients, which led to his investment practice. “There were lots of struggles,” says Jeff, “but what got me through it was believing with all my heart that I would succeed.”
2. Educate yourself
When Steve Maxwell graduated from college, he had an engineering degree and a high-tech job—but he couldn’t balance his checkbook. “I took one finance class in college but dropped it to go on a ski trip,” says the 45-year-old father of three, who lives in Windsor, Colorado. “I actually had to go to my bank and ask them to teach me how to read my statement.”
One of the biggest obstacles to making money is not understanding it: Thousands of us avoid investing because we just don’t get it. But to make money, you must be financially literate. “It bothered me that I didn’t understand this stuff,” says Steve, “so I read books and magazines about money management and investing, and I asked every financial whiz I knew to explain things to me.”

He and his wife started applying the lessons: They made a point to live below their means. They never bought on impulse, always negotiated better deals (on their cars, cable bills, furniture) and stayed in their home long after they could afford a more expensive one. They also put 20 percent of their annual salary into investments.
Within ten years, they were millionaires, and people were coming to Steve for advice. “Someone would say, ‘I need to refinance my house—what should I do?’ A lot of times, I wouldn’t know the answer, but I’d go find it and learn something in the process,” he says.
In 2003, Steve quit his job to become part owner of a company that holds personal finance seminars for employees of corporations like Wal-Mart. He also started going to real estate investment seminars, and it’s paid off: He now owns $30 million worth of investment properties, including apartment complexes, a shopping mall and a quarry.
“I was an engineer who never thought this life was possible, but all it truly takes is a little self-education,” says Steve. “You can do anything once you understand the basics.”

3. Passion pays off
In 1995, Jill Blashack Strahan and her husband were barely making ends meet. Like so many of us, Jill was eager to discover her purpose, so she splurged on a session with a life coach. “When I told her my goal was to make $30,000 a year, she said I was setting the bar too low. I needed to focus on my passion, not on the paycheck.”
Jill, who lives with her son in Alexandria, Minnesota, owned a gift basket company and earned just $15,000 a year. She noticed when she let potential buyers taste the food items, the baskets sold like crazy. Jill thought, Why not sell the food directly to customers in a fun setting?
PLUS: 15 Foods You Should Never Buy Again
With $6,000 in savings, a bank loan and a friend’s investment, Jill started packaging gourmet foods in a backyard shed and selling them at taste-testing parties. It wasn’t easy. “I remember sitting outside one day, thinking we were three months behind on our house payment, I had two employees I couldn’t pay, and I ought to get a real job. But then I thought, No, this is your dream. Recommit and get to work.”
She stuck with it, even after her husband died three years later. “I live by the law of abundance, meaning that even when there are challenges in life, I look for the win-win,” she says.

The positive attitude worked: Jill’s backyard company, Tastefully Simple, is now a direct-sales business, with $120 million in sales last year. And Jill was named one of the top 25 female business owners in North America by Fast Company magazine.
According to research by Thomas J. Stanley, author of The Millionaire Mind, over 80 percent of millionaires say they never would have been successful if their vocation wasn’t something they cared about.

4. Grow your money
Most of us know the never-ending cycle of living paycheck to paycheck. “The fastest way to get out of that pattern is to make extra money for the specific purpose of reinvesting in yourself,” says Loral Langemeier, author of The Millionaire Maker. In other words, earmark some money for the sole purpose of investing it in a place where it will grow dramatically—like a business or real estate.
There are endless ways to make extra money for investing—you just have to be willing to do the work. “Everyone has a marketable skill,” says Langemeier. “When I started out, I had a tutoring business, seeing clients in the morning before work and on my lunch break.”
A little moonlighting cash really can grow into a million. Twenty-five years ago, Rick Sikorski dreamed of owning a personal training business. “I rented a tiny studio where I charged $15 an hour,” he says. When money started trickling in, he squirreled it away instead of spending it, putting it all back into the business. Rick’s 400-square-foot studio is now Fitness Together, a franchise based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with more than 360 locations worldwide. And he’s worth over $40 million.
PLUS: 10 Smart Money Moves to Make Now
When extra money rolls in, it’s easy to think, Now I can buy that new TV. But if you want to get rich, you need to pay yourself first, by putting money where it will work hard for you—whether that’s in your retirement fund, a side business or investments like real estate.
5. No guts, no glory
Last summer, Dave Lindahl footed the bill for 18 relatives at a fancy mansion in the Adirondacks. One night, his dad looked out at the scenery and joked, “I can’t believe we used to call you the black sheep!”
At 29, Dave was broke, living in a small apartment near Boston and wondering what to do after ten years in a local rock band. “I looked around and thought, If I don’t do something, I’ll be stuck here forever.”
He started a landscape company, buying his equipment on credit. When business literally froze over that winter, a banker friend asked if he’d like to renovate a foreclosed home. “I’m a terrible carpenter, but I needed the money, so I went to some free seminars at Home Depot and figured it out as I went,” he says.

After a few more renovations, it occurred to him: Why not buy the homes and sell them for profit? He took a risk and bought his first property. Using the proceeds, he bought another, and another. Twelve years later, he owns apartment buildings, worth $143 million, in eight states.
The Biggest Secret? Stop spending.
Every millionaire we spoke to has one thing in common: Not a single one spends needlessly. Real estate investor Dave Lindahl drives a Ford Explorer and says his middle-class neighbors would be shocked to learn how much he’s worth. Fitness mogul Rick Sikorski can’t fathom why anyone would buy bottled water. Steve Maxwell, the finance teacher, looked at a $1.5 million home but decided to buy one for half the price because “a house with double the cost wouldn’t give me double the enjoyment.”

Do you eat to live or live to eat?
“You are what you eat” is more that just a catchy phrase your mother used to get you to eat right. It’s a profound truth. From the Stone Age to the Industrial Age, people have recognized the healthful properties of certain foods. And now, in the Information Age, the importance of nutrition is so well recognized and supported by scientific evidence that virtually every major public health organization in the world makes dietary recommendations. The link between good nutrition and disease prevention is similarly strong. In the United States, for example, the American Cancer Society estimates that 35% of cancers that are not genetically predetermined can be prevented simply by eating right!
“We must shift our national focus from avoiding nutritional deficiencies to understanding the preventive miracles proper nutrition offers,” wrote Dr. Bernadine Healy, former director of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, in her book A New Prescription for Women’s Health. “The validity of nutrition as a legitimate scientific discipline can no longer be questioned.”
The foods and supplements we consume make up our diet. In recent years, the belief that a balanced diet is a cornerstone of health has sparked a revolution in the way people think about food. Whereas meat, potatoes, and salad constituted “eating well” in much of the 20th century, the diet of the 21st century will likely incorporate Mediterranean, Asian, and vegetarian eating patterns and low-fat, low-salt, high-fibre foods. Fueled by our growing knowledge of health and nutrition, our new view of food focuses on eating to achieve optimal health. But people have intuitively known the health benefits of foods for centuries, as evidenced by a well-quoted line from 17th-century French playwright Molière: “One should eat to live, not live to eat.”
Cellular nutrition is the foundation of health
If you built your dream house, you’d first build a strong foundation and then assemble the finest materials available to complete your project. Constructing a foundation of health that will last a lifetime requires the same commitment to quality building materials. Cells are the “building blocks” that make up a body, and each of the human body’s about 73 trillion highly specialized cells require clean air and water and essential nutrients - carbohydrates, lipids and sterols, proteins, vitamins and related food factors (such as phytonutrients), minerals, and enzymes. Good whole foods and good whole-food supplements provide the nutritional diversity and density that lay the foundation for good health.
Nutrition affects your health both today and tomorrow
The diet is your body’s only source for raw materials it needs to perform its day-to-day functions. Cellular workings are complicated and continual. Fortunately, your cells perform their jobs automatically, without any forethought on your part. Your only responsibility to this intricate, dynamic system is to provide the high-quality nutrients the body needs to do a good job.
This task is challenging, since every day billions of cells are created, destroyed, and replaced. Over the course of seven years, most of our cells, with the exception of brain cells and a few very specific glandular cells, are replaced. For example, red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout your body, have a life span of only four months before they’re removed from the bloodstream and destroyed. The human body contains about 25 trillion red blood cells, so the demand for nutrients to constantly replace these cells is enormous! Some cells, such as those of the mouth or intestines, turn over even faster - every day, in fact!
Furthermore, different cells and tissues have special nutritional requirements. For instance, lung cells have a higher requirement for vitamin C than many cells, whereas eye tissue has a higher need for lutein and other carotenoid phytonutrients. The body’s nutrient supply, provided by foods and supplements, must exceed demand, or deficiency symptoms result.
Over the short term, a nutrient-deficient diet compromises day-to-day health. For instance, carotenoids - colourful plant pigments responsible for the red in tomatoes, the orange in carrots, and the yellow in squash - are critical to the function of certain blood cells that defend the body against microbial invaders. Studies show that a carotenoid-deficient diet weakens immunity. Conversely, a carotenoid-rich diet boosts immunity. So may vitamin C and zinc (both may shorten the duration of a cold). Short-term effects of nutrient deficiencies are also apparent - evidenced as lower energy levels - in people whose diets are deficient in B-vitamins or iron.
Over the long term, suboptimal nutrition may predispose us to early aging and degenerative disease.
Disease is not an inevitable consequence of aging
Many gerontologists (scientists who study aging) believe that disease and debility are not inevitable consequences of growing older. They believe that longer and healthier lives are achievable through a healthful balance of diet, exercise, rest, and relaxation.
The seeds of suboptimal health are often sown in childhood, when many children and teens consume highly processed, fatty, salty, and sugary foods. By their 20s, most people are not as healthy as they should be because they fail to get enough exercise or to eat diets rich in antioxidants or other nutrients. By the time they’re in their 30s, prime time for devotion to family and career, they are often too busy for regular exercise and sufficient sleep. By their 40s, due to stress, poor diets, and inactivity, they’re tense, undernourished, and overweight. At about age 50, most diseases begin to manifest themselves. Many women, for instance, begin to show signs of osteoporosis, and many people of both sexes begin taking one medication or another. Large portions of the population begin to receive regular care for hypertension and high cholesterol.
Health continues to decline, with millions of people each year suffering from chronic conditions that limit their activity: broken hips, arthritis, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, slipped disks, asthma, visual impairment, hearing loss, paralysis, stroke, mental impairment, lung disease, etc. Most people die in their mid-70s of heart disease, cancer, or osteoporosis (complications from hip injuries). Poor nutritional habits are a key reason.
A global glance at mortality:
Poor nutrition takes its toll everywhere
The life expectancy in the world’s least-developed countries is 43 years, compared to 78 years in one of the world’s most developed countries, according to the World Health Organization. The global average for life expectancy is almost 65 years. Other World Health Organization statistics show the widespread occurrence of diseases which may be exacerbated by poor diets. Worldwide, circulatory system diseases, the largest single cause of death, kill about 10 million people each year. Hypertension (high blood pressure) - a major contributor to heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure - affects 8 to 18% of adults worldwide. Cancer claims about 6 million lives, with breast cancer the main cause of cancer deaths among women in developed countries and lung cancer the biggest killer of men. By the end of this century, more than 100 million people will suffer from diabetes - 90% of them with the form strongly linked to lifestyle habits such as inappropriate diet and lack of activity. And 1 in 3 women over age 50 have osteoporosis (thinning of the bones) and are therefore at heightened risk for bone fractures.
It doesn’t have to be this way! Today some of the world’s leading scientists are convinced that poor nutrition contributes to every one of these diseases! Poor nutrition and other unhealthy, unbalanced aspects of our lifestyles are robbing us of the ability to achieve our theoretical biological potential of 120+ years. Most of us are losing decades and spending way too much time in the zone of declining health. Barring infectious disease and accidents, there’s no reason why large portions of the population can’t live to be over 100. But the issue is not just adding years to your life - it’s adding life to your years!
Regardless of age, a balance of good nutrition, exercise, and rest goes a long way toward achieving health, vitality, and longevity. But good nutrition is more than eating healthy foods which supply necessary carbohydrates, lipids, sterols, protein, vitamins and related food factors (such as phytonutrients), minerals, and enzymes. It means giving our bodies substances it can use. Note that diet is what we eat, but nutrition is what our cells and tissues actually receive.
Eating well by itself is no guarantee of good nutrition
Foods must pass through six stages: diet (eating healthy foods), digestion (mechanically breaking down foods through mouth chewing and stomach churning), absorption (passage of nutrients from the intestines into the bloodstream), circulation (distribution of nutrients carried in blood to cells), assimilation (incorporation of nutrients into cells), and elimination (removal of metabolic waste products from cells). Only when all of these challenges are successfully met do our foods provide our bodies with the nutrition they need so you can see that eating well by itself is no guarantee of good nutrition. Nonetheless, a good diet is the foundation upon which our health and vitality are built.

Where Does Money Come From In Network Marketing?
Samuel Johnson
Where Does Money Come From In Network Marketing?
People often ask " where does all this money come from?" I have come to appreciate that money is, as acclaimed, really an emotional subject. In my quest for knowledge and truth in the subject of network marketing, I noted that this is one of the biggest questions that send chills into the spines of the prospected majority. It is most probably because nobody, so to speak, would like to be involved in any money laundering or pyramid sort of a scheme. It is conscience. Another group of people also simply get scared when they hear of the possibility of getting quite large sums of money in a very shorter period of time beyond their imagination. They cannot their manhood/womanhood to comprehend that.
The moment one understands how Network Marketing (NWM) works and how it is different from the traditional marketing, then it becomes clear that there is usually a lot of overhead costs in the latter. Consider a corporate company which has to, first of all, make the products known by target market through advertisement. Every business owner will agree that the largest chunk of expenditure within any fiscal period goes to the sales and marketing department. It will included mounting billboards, running TV and Radio adverts, promotions, demos among others. This becomes a perpetual project for a company that worths its salt. But it is never the case in NWM and thus all this money can be channeled toward the distribution conduit; the distributor.
Again if we look around, ordinarily we see companies fighting for recognition in high platforms at national and multi-national levels during various occasions including National Holidays or any other even that brings an interest group together. They go ahead to do quite some work in line with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and proceed further to finance a number of activities to boost their images. This idea, as well, is not present in network marketing. All the resources that would have otherwise been committed to such projects go along way in funding the marketing plan.
In NWM, the company only funds formally organized company events and functions. The distributors themselves are the advertisers, wholesalers, retailers and consumers. There is absolutely nobody between the consumer and the manufacturer unless the consumer himself/herself has not registered and thus gets products from the distributor directly. I trust now you can see the source of money for our excited distributor. Conventionally every person in the middle adds cost without any appreciation in quantity or quality of the product. They are just but brokers. Which, in my view, is not very fair
Is Network Marketing a Real Business?
It is a question that many people ask themselves whenever they encounter such an opportunity for the first time. But the fact is that Network Marketing(NWM) is a real, true business categorised as belonging among the big businesses that can propel one from grass to grace, from the life of debts to the life of abundance. It not a bad idea to be cautious before jumping into a new idea, but too much caution will never lead to success.
Network Marketing is also refered to as a Multi-level Marketing (MLM) or Direct Sales in some quotas. It is a business system that aims at bypassing all the traditional middlemen in the machandise distribution chain and linking the consumer, who also becomes the distributor, directly to the company through partnering. The distributor, by paying some minimal fee for a business kit and lincense, starts his/her own big business and builds it using the laid down plans.
It is important to remember, from Robert Kiosakis Cashflow Quadrant, that one is either an employee or an employer. You can be an employee of somebody, company or of your own self. To be an employee has little chances of leading you to financial freedom. On the other hand, one can be employing money or people to generate more money. They usually create systems that the employees work for. The business sytems they own are categorised as Big. The system delivers money whether or not you are there. Network Marketing comfortably falls into this category without dehumanizing other people. It brings a win-win situtation. I was once a skeptic too and thus the inspiration I have to put it to people that this business is Holly and Legitimate.
The road to get to success is a lot more exciting than getting success
Jacob Gelt Dekker
Is Network Marketing for Everybody?
By all standards, NO. It is not for everybody! Even heaven is awesome but not for everybody. Not everyone qualifies to be a network marketer. Just like not everyone qualifies to run a business. Here below, I list some of the credentials for one who can do NWM.
Qualifications:
The qualifications in this business are the same as the qualifications for becoming a successful man or woman in life. That is why when you attend any of the presentations, you will always meet motivational speakers who train people on how to succeed in life and inspire the audience to go for it. Here you learn what is never taught in school. No wonder schooling is not a pre-requisite to success! Success here is used to mean living the life of abundance and attaining what is called financial freedom. Is there freedom that just come? So what does it take?
1:Attitude:
Network marketing, first and foremost, requires a very positive attitude in life. It does not require logics or certificates in anything. In the path to success, we say that "ATTITUDE AND NOT APTITUDE WILL DETERMINE YOUR ALTITUDE IN LIFE". This is true. It is a valid statement! Pride will deter even people who really need it from joining the business. PRIDE, that is said in the bible to come before fall, is the main obstacle in any journey to success because people want to sing the chorus which everyone is farmiliar with. Not the verses. People want to be doing what friends recommend or think is good. The friends themselves unsuccessful in life and struggling to make ends meet. Struggle to pay bills, live on hand and mounth and think small! This is the greatest jeopardy.
For one to succeed, some of the critical decisions you will need to go through include sacrificing anything that stops on your way to success! It does not matter for how long you have had it. This includes your own friends! They could be the reason you are where you are right now, anyway. Have new friends who think the same way. Friends who are not liabilities but assets. DO NOT FEAR REJECTION! You will NOT be popular at the beginning but once you start to succeed, everyone will want to hang out with you. They will come back. If it were to help you at all, you would already be successful. It is you to resolve to do it no matter the criticism or discouragement or challenges you will meet on the way. So if you are willing to succeed in life, one thing to check is your perspective in life. Are you a pessimist or an optimist? If optimist, Yes you will. Else, change! Again check the level of your pride. Better be proud of success than just seeing yourself on top of everything that never exists.
2: Dare to Dream Big.
Success if for dreamers. If you are able to dream BIG enough and imagine yourself living that your dream already, then you the right person to do NWM. People usually try to dream and then stop for fear or doubt. They usually say ' ..but that is not possible. I don't want to live in fantasy.' Now that is the mind of a failure in life. I always say that the first thing to do in order to realize your dream; the very first thing, is to wake up! You will have moved at least one step forward. The journey is now shorter. If you can Dream It, if you can Imagine It and you really Need It, YOU CAN GET IT! That is the good news if you did not know. That is a fundamental truth in life. Your NWM company, Team, Mentors and Sponsors should always guide you towards realizing all that you DREAM. By all means, I insist, Do NOT seek advice on how to succeed from a failure or simply from one who has not succeeded! If you want to swim, hang around with swimmers. If you want to buy a car, talk to people who own cars, not cyclists! It is that sereous. The basic problem with majority is to seek guidance from their close relatives, friends or fiancies who are themselves in the same class or even worse off and so negative in life! What Robert T. Kiosaki calls ' The blind guiding the blind.'
3:Have a BURNING DESIRE:
It is this which will fuel you to work toward your GOALS in life, that is DREAMS now put down in paper. It is this same desire that makes everyone succeed anywhere; in school, in sports, in politics and life in general. The burning Desire inside you to reach your goals; to have that car of your dream, to live in that nice home, to pass your tests, to win the marathon, to get that job is what will make you wake up early and work till late, to sacrifice your favorite TV programs or watching soccer in the name of working the dream and everything you will do. It is what will keep you going despite the challenges. You will be thirsty for success! You will be hungry for it! And once you are, NO one will STOP you. No one will stop on your way! You will have GUTS to defy odds and move on. You will NOT FEAR anything or anybody except GOD the Almighty in whom you will so much believe and from whom you will get so much support and strength. The BURNING DESIRE is a well known secret to success.
4:Faith:
You must have faith that whatever you are looking for, you can get! That if you want it, you can get it. You must live in faith in yourself that you are a winner, not a loser. You must believe that you have all it takes to succeed. Believe you can do it. You must believe in you God, who made you. If He did make you, then can it be IMPOSSIBE for him to make you succeed? In the bible, Jesus said, 'seek and you will find, ask and you will be given, knock and the door shall be opened for you.' Don't you think He could simply say ' seek and you will likely find, ask and somehow someone will possibly give you, knock and perhaps the door will be opened for you'?
5:Action:
Success has to do with two things here; Decision and Action. No Procrastination. Act Now. Not tomorrow or next year. Learn to appreciate the value of time.
Now in all the above, you can simply say anyone can do it. Which is true. But the reality in the ground is that not everyone is ready to qualify! Not everyone is ready to change his/her life and start learning from new friends or people they did not know. Not everyone is ready to sacrifice his favorite routines and junk friends who take them nowhere. At least reducing the airtime with them. Not everyone believes in himself or herself and besides over 90% are indocrinated to believe in Job only for income!
Chief M. Nangoli, in his book 'Why Have You Chosen to Be Poor when There is So Much Money In the World' says, 'You think small, plan small and achieve small.' Again it is said ' The size of your success will be determined by the Size of your DREAM, the strength of your DESIRE and how you handle the challenges you will meet on the way.'
But people can be couched to To Do It. Everyone CAN. If you are willing to learn and accept to be Trainable! You can contact me in case you need more info on this topic or just drop me a question. I will always revert to you.

• For more info regarding products and the SAB refer to www.gnld.com
• So what must I do?
• 3 simple steps
1)BUY DIRECT - Use the products yourself – you’ll save money by buying directly from the manufacturer (GNLD) at wholesale prices. By using them you’ll gain confidence in them. You are, after all, already buying the equivalent products in the stores – at retail prices!
2) INTRODUCE others to the concept of buying direct and saving.
More people buying = greater turnover = more commission earned by you.
3)SHARE the products with people who don’t want to do the business but who also want to save money.
• By using them yourself and gaining confidence in the quality & economy, you’ll have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
• You’ll now make a retail profit, in addition to the commission you earn on turnover.
• You get a computer buying number from GNLD, entitling you to buy directly from them.
• Everyone you introduce, and they introduce,
(anywhere in the world!) gets a buying number linked to your number.
• You get credited with everything they buy – thus earning a percentage of the total turnover created.
• You get paid in whatever currency the turnover is created – you can earn internationally!
• The turnovers are measured in points (PV) – to avoid the complications that would arise if currencies were used.

Network Marketing is a powerful tool.
The wealthiest people in the world and Network Marketers know the secret to creating true wealth. They have been focusing on it for hundreds of years. They understand the difference between linear and recurring income.
Recurring income is when one performs the work just once and gets paid over and over again. An example would be a rock star, best-selling author, inventor, actor, commercial real estate developer and Network Marketer. These folks have done the job once and will get paid over and over again. Recurring income is building something that will keep churning out the income, whether one managing it or not.
Linear income is when one trades time for money. Most people have been trained to work for someone else. They work for wages. When they stop working, their paycheck stops. Linear income only continues as long as one continues to work.
The best way to find out if you have recurring income is to ask yourself, 'while I'm sleeping tonight, will I be making money?'
Given a choice, which would you rather do: work hard and get paid only once or work hard once and get paid continuously?
A good job and a secure retirement are a myth in today's world. Most people say they can live off of $5,000 a month of income. Yet sadly, they lack a plan for retirement.
It would take $1.6 million in the bank today for you to earn $5,300 of interest (at 4%) every month. Or you could save $400,000 every year for 5 years to collect $5,300 of interest every month.
Is this an option for you?
What does it take to be a movie star, best-selling author or songwriter? There are experts in the field to guide you if that is want you want.
What does it takes to do Network Marketing? Will it be easy? Do you need a lot of money or education?
Network Marketing is not a quick easy scheme to riches. It is work. But if you have a burning desire, if you have strong work ethics and if you are coachable you can have the life of your dreams.
Network Marketing is a way to create recurring income. Diving into a recurring income opportunity can be costly and painful. But knowing how the Network Marketing business works can save you lot of money and frustration.

The Power Of Network Marketing
It's Very Important To Understand The Power Of Network Marketing
by Kirk Bannerman
Network Marketing can produce outstanding results if you know to harness it's awesome power to secure your business success.
Terms such as Network Marketing, 'MLM', and Multi Level Marketing all refer to the same type of business model. This industry has had more than it's share of scumbag crooks and con artists that have used and abused the concept. However, if you do your homework and get involved with a legitimate network marketing organization, this business model has exceptional income potential.
Network Marketing, MLM, and Multilevel Marketing are unlike franchises or conventional businesses in that they take advantage of all three of the important, yet misunderstood principles of:
- Leverage (of Time and Money)
- Residual Income
- Geometric Growth Through Duplication
Unfortunately these principles are not well understood by many of the people that undertake network marketing. And that's just one of many reasons why so many fail at network marketing. There are lots of other reasons, and it would take volumes to cover them all. But this is one of the more common ones. Because if you don't comprehend and believe in these principles, it's impossible to help others fully understand and appreciate them.
First, lets look at LEVERAGE:
Every successful person or business takes advantage of leverage. There are only 24 hours in a day and no matter how talented you are or how much you get paid per hour, if you don't take advantage of leverage you're limited by the number of hours in a day. As a side note, I have heard of cases where an occasional lawyer was billing more than 24 hours per day...but, I guess that's another story. By learning to leverage your time, you can also benefit from a percentage of other people's efforts, and dramatically increase your income while creating more free time for yourself.
The unique and wonderful thing about the Network Marketing business model is that everyone has the same opportunity to become the 'owner' of his or her own business - with a fraction of the investment of time and money of a franchise or traditional business.
In network marketing the people at the top definitely have a vested interest in helping others on their team succeed.
Would you rather receive 100% of one person's efforts, or 5% of the efforts of 100 people?
Obviously 100% of one is always only ONE. But 5% of 100 is FIVE.
Not only will the total result with leverage almost always be amplified, but your income is not dependent on only one person. If your income is produced by the activities of many, it is much more dependable. Even if something unexpected or negative happens to one or more of those people, it only has a minor effect on the TOTAL production.
It's great to get paid while you're sleeping or away on vacation. That's one of the many advantages of leveraging your time.
Now, lets consider RESIDUAL INCOME:
When someone mentions residual income many people automatically think of actors or musicians.
Residual income is recurring income that you continue to receive long after the work you've done to produce it has ended. There are lots of ways to produce residual income. However, many people don't understand it, and still others have never thought about or been exposed to it.
A very simple example of residual income is interest earned on money in the bank or investments. You continue to receive this income without having to invest any more time to produce it.
Suppose you had the choice of doing a job and earning $1,000 once, or getting paid $50/month for the rest of your life...which would you choose? If you chose the $50/month you obviously "get" the concept of residual income.
Clearly, $50/month will surpass a single payment of $1,000 relatively quickly. And if it lasts for a few years, or better yet - the rest of your life - it will really be a blessing.
Residual income is certainly not about "getting rich quickly", even though with the right opportunity it's possible to produce a substantial residual income stream in a relatively short time.
Most people who fail at network marketing either choose the wrong network organization or just give up too soon and quit because they expect overnight results. It is important to recognize that the real beauty of residual income is on the back end, not the front, and that once you build it you have the financial security and time flexibility to do just about anything you desire for the rest of your life!
Last, but not least, lets address GEOMETRIC GROWTH (DUPLICATION):
The classic illustration of geometric growth is the frequently used penny-a-day example. If you save one penny on the first day, and double it every successive day, (day two you have 2 pennies and day three you have 4 pennies, and so on) how much will you have at the end of 30 days?
The answer, to the astonishment of many, is $5,368,708! Amazing, but true.
That's a simple and dramatic illustration of how networking can work. If I can teach you, I've doubled myself. If we each teach someone else, we've doubled again. As this duplication or geometric growth process goes on and on, it can produce some amazing results in a relatively short period of time, just like the penny example above.
So there you have it, understand and apply these three principles
- Leverage (of Time and Money)
- Residual Income
- Geometric Growth Through Duplication
and, given sufficient time and effort, you should enjoy a successful and financially rewarding network marketing experience.
